Day 1: Kruger National Park (South Africa)

Departing early from Johannesburg & Pretoria we head off the plateau towards Mozambique to the town of Nelspruit to meet up with fellow travellers and to enjoy a leisurely breakfast.  From here we head north, making our way to the Kruger National Park.

Once inside the Kruger Park we will be on the lookout for wildlife en route to our campsite.  After setting up camp you will have a chance to relax for a couple of hours before heading out on an evening sunset drive with your experienced Kruger guide.  This drive lasts between 3 and 3.5 hours, which gives you the opportunity to see plenty of wildlife. This is a great opportunity to see nocturnal animals not normally seen during the day game drives.
On your return your guide will have dinner ready for you.

Leaving camp very early, the next 4 to 5 hours are spent looking and observing the wildlife in the park; your guide will stop off at one of the picnic spots for breakfast.  The road takes us south through the park, arriving at our next camp in time for your afternoon walking safari, which last for around 3 hours.  The walking safari is conducted by local national park guides and it gives you the opportunity to observe some of the animals on foot.  Your guide will also give you facts about the flora and fauna of the park.  Once back in camp there’s time enough for a swim in the pool before night fall.
