Full itinerary
Tour highlights: Cape Town, Chobe National Park, Malawi - Lusaka, Zanzibar, Serengeti National Park, Olduvai Gorge and Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 1-7:
Begin your safari in cosmopolitan Cape Town with a Township tour. We will then travel north to the border of Namibia and stop on the way at Citrusdal. We will continue to the desolate but striking Gariep (Orange) River and once in Namibia, enjoy an awesome view over the dramatic Fish River Canyon. We will climb the world’s highest dunes in the Namib-Naukluft National Park and walk amongst the giant sand dunes of the world’s oldest desert.

We will have a chance to enjoy the adventure activities in the coastal town of Swakopmund. (try ‘dune-bashing’ by quad-bike or sand-boarding) We will relax in the evenings in one of the restaurants.

Day 8-15:
We will travel north along the desolate Atlantic Coast and visit the Cape Cross Seal Colony, home to some 80,000 seals. We will continue north to a private Cheetah Park before heading into Etosha National Park in the hope of seeing more of Namibia’s wildlife. Staying awake all night at a floodlit waterhole is a unique game viewing experience and you may see rhino and elephant come down to drink. From here, we will continue on to Botswana via Namibia’s German-influenced capital of Windhoek, and then head to the gateway of the Okavango Delta at Maun. Here we prepare for a wilderness experience.

We will be camping amongst the tranquil islands and watery channels of the Okavango itself. With nothing but the nocturnal sounds of the African bush, a night here is a unique African experience and a wonderful opportunity to be at one with nature.

Day 16-21:
From Maun we head north to Chobe National Park. There is the opportunity to take a morning game drive, then relax in the heat of the day and venture out on the tranquil Chobe River in the late afternoon on a 'fish-eagle' cruise. Moving on from Chobe we will cross into Zambia and drive the short distance to the town of Livingstone. This will be our base for exploring the Victoria Falls. This is Africa’s ‘adventure centre’ with numerous ‘adrenaline’ activities typically available such as white water rafting, bungee jumping, and scenic flights to name a few.

We visit a local village and view the magnificent Victoria Falls at Mosi oa Tunya National Park.

Day 22-34:
From the Falls, we will continue north via Lusaka to Malawi, the ‘warm heart’ of Africa. We will have the opportunity to enjoy a few days on the wonderfully peaceful beaches. There is a full range of water sports in the warm, clear waters of Lake Malawi. You also have the option of going on a day trek through the forests and along the lofty escarpments in the region.

You will be able to meet some of the Malawi people on a village walk. They are known to be some of the friendliest in Africa. We will cross the border into Tanzania and continue toward the coast to the port city of Dar es Salaam, passing through Mikumi National Park along the way. We cross over to the exotic Zanzibar. You can explore the intriguing alleyways of old Stone Town, learn the island’s history on the Spice Tour, or relax on the northern beaches and enjoy the Indian Ocean at its best.

Day 35-41:
After returning to Dar es Salaam on the African mainland, we will travel north towards Arusha, Tanzania’s safari capital. If the weather is clear, you may catch a glimpse of the snow-peaked tip of the magnificent Mt Kilimanjaro. While in Arusha, we will have the opportunity to shop for more East African curios, visit a snake park and a Masai village, before crossing by 4x4 to the renowned Serengeti National Park, Olduvai Gorge and Ngorongoro Crater.

The Serengeti and Ngorongoro are two of the best game reserves in Africa and this is a spectacular excursion as we approach the end of our tour. Finally, we return to Arusha for a last look at the bustling markets before we cross into Kenya and pass through a barren landscape to Nairobi, Kenya's cosmopolitan capital. This is where the tour ends.
