Day 1: South Africa
Departing from Pretoria or Johannesburg early morning, the road takes us south down to the Drakensberg Mountains (South African side), to the small area of Sani Pass. This is the gateway to Lesotho. There will be enough time this afternoon for you to go on a short hike in the area.

Day 2: South Africa – Lesotho
After an early breakfast, we will board a 4x4 vehicle that will take us into Lesotho. Once across the border your guide will take you to the village where you will meet the local people of Lesotho. We stop for lunch by a set of lovely swimming spots in the river, and then head on into typical highland village country, arriving at Molumong mid-afternoon. We will then saddle up for a 2 hour ride to Libibing village, where we will spend the night in traditional rondavel accommodation.

Day 3: Lesotho
After breakfast we set off on a full day of riding. The day will include superb views, crossing the Senqu River, and climbing up high into the mountains to stay the night in the village of Malubelube.

Day 4: South Africa – Lesotho
After breakfast we will set off on horseback, following a shorter return route to Molumong. Arriving around noon, we will have lunch here before setting off on the journey home. Time permitting, we will stop off for a drink at Sani Top Chalet, reputed to be the highest pub in Africa. Return to Sani Pass by around 5pm.

Day 5: South Africa
Leaving Sani Pass early morning, the drive takes us back to Johannesburg or Pretoria. Or, for onward travel, if the group would like to get off in Durban, your driver/guide can take you there.
