Day 2:  Zavora

Rising early for breakfast we get ready to make our way further north, driving through small villages along the road.  Our first dive spot is Zavora; arriving late morning we can get ready for some diving for the next few days.  There will also be time to explore the area.

Days 3, 4, 5:  Diving Zavora

This is the start of your diving days; Zavora has some of the best diving in Mozambique.  They even boast 2 WRECK dives:

  • the Klipfontein Vessel was built in Rotterdam in 1939 and on the 8th January 1953 sank about 6km off the coast of Zavora. This amazing artificial reef is a must for advanced adventure divers.
  • the second wreck, the Rio Sainas, is a very recent addition to the area, having sunk on 11th March 2013, and lies at just 32m, 9km from the shore.

Beside the 2 wrecks, Zavora has many dive sites that will take your breath away and a cleaning station on one of the sites where Mantas are seen daily.  This is also one of the best places for Humpback Whales, Leatherback Turtles, Potato Bass and shoals of other sea life.

Days 7, 8, 9, 10:  Diving Tofo (or Barra Reef)

The days start off early for you to get ready for your dives.  There are many dive spots to choose from in this area.  Your days will be filled with diving some of the reefs every day and chatting to other divers about the days’ events.  Tofo and Barra also have some of the best beaches for you to enjoy and relax on after your dives.
